From Providence and Points North
Take Route 95 South to Exit 1 (Westerly)
At end of exit ramp, bear right onto Route 3 South
Travel 6 miles, straight ahead, into Westerly
You will cross a railroad bridge where there is a traffic light
(a Tim Horton’s doughnut shop will be on your left)
Proceed straight ahead, past the light to a second traffic light
(less than 1/2 mile from the first to second light)
At second light, turn right (keep Wilcox Park on the right)
The Library is at the edge of the park on the right (This is Broad Street)
The Library is a yellow building with a red tile roof

From South Kingstown & Route 1
South Follow Route 1 South through Charlestown and Dunns Corners in Westerly
Continue to traffic light where Route 1 South bears left @ Granite St.
(Westerly High School and Nicola’s Restaurant on opposite corners)
Take left at light and follow to traffic light at junction of Route 3
Continue straight through light and bear right onto Broad Street, keeping Wilcox Park on the right.
The Library is at the edge of the park on the right (This is Broad Street)

From Connecticut and Points South
Take Route 95 North to exit 91 (Stonington)
At the end of the exit ramp, go straight through the traffic light onto Route 234 (Pequot Trail)
Travel approximately 5 miles
At the traffic light, bear left onto Route 1 North
You will go under a railroad overpass and cross the Pawcatuck River Bridge
Bear right after the bridge where the road becomes one-way.
Move into the left lane and bear to the first left, passing the police and fire stations to
stop sign.
The Library is the yellow brick building with a red tile roof that sits directly across from the stop sign as you return to Route 1.

95 South to Rt 4 South to Rt 1 South to the Wakefield exit. Take a right onto Old Tower Hill Rd which becomes Main Street. Left onto Robinson Street.

FROM SOUTH:
Rt 1 North; U-turn on to Rt 1 South (Commador Oliver Hazard Perry Memorial Highway) Right onto Post Road. Right onto Robinson Street.

From I-95 or I-295, take Route 146 N to Route 146 A. At the third set of lights, take a right onto Providence St. (you will see a little plaza and a baseball field). Follow Providence St. to the end and turn left on South Main Street. Immediately take the first right onto Mason St. (CVS Warehouse will be on your left). Proceed down the hill and under a railroad trestle and then right onto Second Ave. (you will see a foundry on your right). Proceed 200 yards and Coleman Elementary School is on your left. Parking is on the side of the building.

From North:
95 South to Exit 21, Atwells Avenue. Straight on service road #7, .4 miles. Right onto Broad Street (Crossroads in building at the light). Proceed .4 miles. Church on right at the intersection of Broad and Elmwood. Turn right at light, and immediate right into parking lot.

From South:
95 North to Exit 21, Broadway, straight on service road # 8. Left onto Broadway. Left onto service road #7. Right onto Broad Street (Crossroads in building at light). Proceed .4 miles. Church at intersection of Broad and Elmwood Avenues. Turn right at light and immediate right into parking lot.

Directions to Providence Public Library: 150 Empire St.
From the South: Take 95 N to the Broadway exit (exit 21) and merge right as you come off the exit ramp. Stay in the right lane and continue straight through the light. You will see a hotel and the Civic Center on your left. The road curves to the right. Go straight through the next light (Fountain St). Turn right at the next light onto Washington St to the Library’s main entrance.
From the North: Take 95 S to the Atwell’s Ave exit (exit 21). Turn left off the exit at the light, and cross over 95. You will see a hotel and the Civic Center on your left. Stay in the right lane. Continue through the one light. Go straight through the next light (Fountain St). Turn right at the next light onto Washington St to the Library’s main entrance.

Directions to the RISD Auditorium: 17 Canal St, Providence
I-195 Westbound ?Coming from the east on I-195 westbound, take Exit 2 for South Main Street. Proceed through the first traffic light (College Street). The RISD Auditorium will be the second building on your left.
I-95 North or South? From I-95 north or south take exit 20 onto 195 eastbound. Take Exit 1 Downtown Providence, and at the first traffic light take a right turn onto Dyer Street. Proceed to the third set of lights and take a right onto College Street. Take your first left at the next traffic light onto South Main Street. The RISD Auditorium will be the second building on your left.

Directions to the Martin Luther King Center, 20 Marcus Wheatland Blvd. Newport.
From 95 S: to Exit 9 Rt /North Kingstown. Rt 4 becomes Rt. 1. Continue on Rt 1 to Rt. 138 E over the Jamestown and Newport bridges ($2 toll). Take first exit off bridge: Scenic Newport Exit. Follow to stop sign. Take a right at the bottom of the exit. Take a right onto Farewell St. Go through 2 stoplights, pass the cementary. At next stop sign, take a left onto Warner St. Take first right onto Tilden Ave (parking lot on corner). Dr. MLK Center is on the right at the end of Tilden (corner of Tilden and Dr. Marcus Wheatland BLVD).
From 195 E: East on 195 over Braga Bridge into Fall River. Take exit 8A, Rt 24 Tiverton/Newport. Continue south on 24 through Fall River and Tiverton, over the Sakonnet River Bridge into Portsmouth. Highway ends as Rt. 24 becomes Rt 114 (West Main Rd). Continue south on Rt. 114 through Portsmouth, Middletown, and into Newport. West Main Rd (Rt 114) becomes Broadway as you enter Newport. Continue South, pass Newport Hospital on left, and a brown church. Make first possible right turn past the church (next to Newport Police Headquarters). At first stop sign, turn left onto Dr. Marcus Wheatland Blvd.. The MLK Center is ahead on the right.
